MC Donald’s Pt. 3 (Or Day XVI)

so today started off pretty low energy. woke up, did my chores, and showered. got ready and had  breakfast (barbecue for breakfast!) and then i sat around to watch my novela. the whole time i kept thinking of tomorrow. i have a NINE HOUR SHIFT at work tomorrow…im doing concessions so I’m a little concerned since I’ve never done it before. sigh* i worry too much about things i have no control over. I’m thinking about whether i ll mess up, if i ll ask too many questions (i do that when I’m doing something new), and if i ll get anyone mad -__-. THINGS I CANT CONTROL! e.e anyway. after my novela, i went with my mom to pick up our dry cleaning and then to Moskatel, a crafts store. she’s going all out on my brother’s decorations for his party. its nice to see her working hard on something. my little brother is the youngest one and is the last of us to graduate from high school, so she wants this party to be a big success. i hope it is. for her sake. she’s been busting her ass all year getting it together. we came back home and i watched tv for a while before coming to the living room to hang out with her for a bit. she’s been tripping a bit about my brother leaving this fall so I’m trying to be around as much as i can to let her know she aint gonna be alone (i mean literally, she will be…but not figuratively!). i know this might be detrimental though, since when i leave, it might be a bit harder on her…i’m so not looking forward to that day…

my brother got off work and we went to MC Donald’s (third time in three weeks, I’m on a roll!). we gossiped for a bit (per usual) and then went to Michael’s (another crafts store) and we picked up a few things. then we came home again. i downloaded a few more albums and listened to one and a half today. :D so much music i am missing out on and I’m barely listening to. sigh* i have a lot ahead of me…

i was thinking of the past today. how much has really changed since then? a lot? a little? enough? will it ever be enough? i don’t know. i don’t think i ll ever know honestly. but I’m gonna do my best to stay sane and live life. except this weekend. i have 15+hrs of work in the next two days…so i am going to be living in the movie theater this weekend. so not the business…

Album of the Day: The Preview - Chiddy Bang

the literal preview to their studio debut album, Breakfast, The Preview is anything but so. in fact, if it weren’t for its obvious EP status, it would have been a decent debut for the duo. it feature very introspective song and has a very light hearted tone, even though it sometimes deals with very deep and serious topics. the opening song has a pretty slick production by the Neptunes but is far from being the most outstanding cut on the album (in my opinion). “Old Ways” was my favorite song.

Day 9: A Song That Makes You Hopeful

Slippin’ - DMX

its a very personal song detailing DMX’s childhood. he was at the end of his rope and headed nowhere fast. but he came up quick after falling. i heard this song when my life was heading nowhere fast as well. i vibe with this song whenever shit gets too real for me. (Fun Fact: the song is heavily censored, even in the explicit version, because the original performer of the sample used did not want to give DMX permission to sample his song if he was going to be using “foul language.”)
